In Home Dog Training Programs
Level One Obedience — Home, Outdoors and On-Leash
If you only invest in one training program in your dog’s lifetime, this program will provide a strong foundation and serve you and your dog well for many years to come.
Our Level One Obedience program accomplishes three goals:
- It develops your dog’s basic obedience skills to a strong and usable degree. Depending on your interests and your dog’s aptitude and progress, we also may cover some fun games and tricks, fetching, etc.
- It helps you develop an appropriate, effective relationship with your dog. Not every dog-human relationship is appropriate, healthy and effective. We will show you how to develop a relationship that meets all three of those criteria. Additionally, we cover the basics of dog handling and appropriate human-canine interaction.
- It provides ample opportunity to addresses most common behavior issues, such as house training, nuisance barking, jumping on people and furniture, nipping and mouthing, inappropriate chewing, bolting through doors, begging for food and ignoring personal and physical boundaries. Other common behavioral issues usually can be covered upon request.
Level One Obedience is intended for puppies and adult dogs with little or no training, or whose current level of training has not reached a level of utility.
Duration: 5 Sessions (approximately one session per week)
Prerequisites:
- Dog must be at least 16 weeks old. Five to six months old is optimum.
- Owner must show proof dog is current on vaccinations.
- 6-foot leash and buckle collar
Level Two Obedience — Field and Fun
If you want your dog to be off-leash reliable, our Level Two Obedience course provides the logical next steps to that goal. Most dogs are quickly approaching off-leash reliability by the end of this program.
To achieve off-leash proficiency, your dog must learn to obey you regardless of… well, just regardless. Our Level Two Obedience program focuses on three essential elements of off-leash control.
- Perfecting your relationship with your dog. Not all relationships are conducive to strong control in difficult environments. However, this is our specialty, and we will help you master the approach necessary to achieve your goals.
- Adding distance, distraction and duration to your dog’s current skills. There is a massive difference between getting your dog to do something in your home or back yard and getting your dog to do it in a high-distraction, prey-infested environment. By introducing people, other dogs and wildlife into our training scenarios, your dog will steadily build up to difficult environments.
- Proofing your dog’s training. Even the best-trained dogs are capable of blowing you off and doing what they want. No training method has been invented that a dog cannot defy given the right circumstancecs — and anyone who tells you they can prevent that is selling something. However, our proofing system, which was developed during the creation of our nationally successful Positive Gun Dog Training Program, provides a proven and effective method of teaching dogs that your requests are rewarding, but not up for negotiation.
- Starting your dog on our Reliable Recall Program. Once offered as a separate package, our Reliable Recall Program is now built into our Level Two Obedience program. Using state-of-the-art positive training techniques, your dog will learn that it is a joy to come when you call, even in difficult environments.
The Level Two Obedience program is intended for dogs who have successfully completed our Level One Obedience program, or who can otherwise meet our Level One Obedience performance standards. It often is useful to do this program via private coaching at our location rather than as an in home dog training package, as we can provide the correct level of distraction at our location.

- Owner must show proof dog is current on vaccinations

Level Three Obedience — Unsurpassed Control
If your dog is your partner in the great outdoors, our Level Three Obedience program will help you achieve an unsurpassed level of responsiveness and control.
Our Level Three Obedience program builds on the skills and abilities developed in Level One obedience and Level Two obedience by adding directional control, whistle commands, and an emergency stop. Additional work is also done to increase your dog’s perfomance amidst difficult distractions.
When your dog finishes this course he will be prepared for Denver’s great outdoors. You will have the perfect partner for hiking, camping and other recreations that lend themselves to the job of having an off-leash companion.
